The Lodge Burniston was designed as a peaceful retreat for couples looking to switch off and spend quality time together.
Designed by architect Andrew Hayes, the cabin sits amongst century-old trees and was carefully built on specialist screw foundations to protect the woodland around it. Large windows bring the outdoors in, creating a calm, light-filled space that feels connected to nature throughout the seasons.
Inside you'll find contemporary interiors, a king-size bed, a boutique-style bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, guests can soak in the cast-iron outdoor bath beneath the trees, spend evenings around the fire pit in Adirondack chairs, or simply enjoy a quiet morning coffee listening to the birdsong.
Natural materials, handcrafted ceramics and thoughtful details create a calm, contemporary interior.

One of the things we love most about our location is that guests can enjoy peaceful woodland seclusion while being just minutes from some of Yorkshire's most iconic destinations.
Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough are all within easy reach, while the Cleveland Way and Cinder Track offer spectacular walking and cycling through the surrounding countryside and coastline. For those wanting to leave the car behind, several welcoming pubs and restaurants are also within walking distance.
Whether you spend the day exploring or simply relaxing at the lodge, the best part is returning to your own private woodland retreat.
Being featured in Luxe Magazine is a wonderful milestone, but what means the most to us is that the article captures exactly what we hoped people would experience when they stay here.
Since opening, we've welcomed couples celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, babymoons and much-needed escapes from busy lives. Reading our guest book has become one of our favourite parts of hosting, with guests often telling us they arrived feeling exhausted and left feeling rested, reconnected and completely refreshed.
Knowing that the Luxe team experienced that same feeling makes the feature even more special.
