Booking your stay.

Everything you need to know about booking, arriving and checking out.

  • Yes — one-night stays are available Sunday to Thursday, subject to availability. Friday and Saturday stays have a two-night minimum.

  • Self-check-in is anytime after 3 pm, and check-out is before 11 am.

  • Early check-in or late check-out can be added to your booking for £40, subject to availability.

  • The Lodge has its own gated entrance and dedicated parking space for one vehicle.

  • Yes. You can add breakfast baskets, celebration packages, birthday banners, balloons and other thoughtful extras to your stay. Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive access to our private guest shop, where you can view and order the available options. If you have something particular in mind, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

  • Booking directly through our website is simple and secure. Choose your dates, check live availability and complete your booking online. You’ll receive immediate confirmation, followed by all the information you need before your stay. Booking direct also guarantees our best available price, with personal support from us whenever you need it.

At The Lodge.

A little more about the facilities and what’s included during your stay.

  • The cast-iron, roll-top bath is tucked beside the cabin, next to your private deck and overlooking the neighbouring field. Although the setting feels secluded, the field is occasionally in use, so we recommend wearing swimwear.

    The bath is filled with fresh water whenever you wish to use it. Bath salts, bubble bath, robes, towels and battery-operated candles are all provided.

  • Our kitchen is fully equipped with your standard appliances, a slimline dishwasher, induction hob, electric oven, and fridge. Plus, a kettle and toaster.

  • We are equipped with a French press (cafetière) coffee maker and provide you with locally roasted coffee from Three Ridings Coffee in Bridlington.

  • Yes! We provide all guests with percale cotton sheets, fluffy white towels, and luxury bathrobes.

    Please remember to bring your own beach towels.

  • Yes! Our toiletries are refillable, made in the UK, vegan, and cruelty-free.

  • We’re equipped with high-speed internet. For those looking for some lo-fi entertainment, our game and puzzle collection should keep you entertained inside or out. We also have a small library of fiction and nonfiction books.

  • Unfortunately, we don't accept dogs at The Lodge.

Helpful information about Burniston, getting around and places to explore nearby.

  • Burniston village is nestled between the wild North Sea and the North York Moors, perfectly located for exploring the coast and countryside that make North Yorkshire famous.

    Conveniently located 4 miles from Scarborough and 20 minutes from Whitby.

  • We have two traditional English pubs, both within a 5-minute walk from The Lodge.

    If you’re looking for somewhere special, we always recommend The Plough in Scalby (next village along, a 2-minute drive or a 30-minute walk). The Plough is a stylish gastropub with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a fantastic selection of Yorkshire ales and locally sourced dishes.

    Book ahead to avoid disappointment!

  • Scarborough has its own train station and regular buses. The Lodge is located on the X94/X93 bus route (Scarborough to Whitby route).

  • 1. The Cinder Track - A flat trail suitable for walking or cycling. From Scarborough to Whitby.

    2. The Cleveland Way - An iconic National Trail from Helmsley to Filey.

    3. Hayburn Wyke Waterfall - A woodland path & secret beach. Great spot for a cold water dip under the waterfall.

  • Burniston Bay, or 'The Rocks', is a scenic, rocky bay with a stony beach accessed via the Cleveland Way (5 min drive with parking).

    If you're looking for sandy beaches, Scarborough has two within a short drive. North Bay and South Bay have huge sandy beaches connected via a wide coastal footpath along Marine Drive.

Important policies, accessibility information and a few simple house rules.

  • The Lodge is designed for two adults. We can also welcome one infant under nine months, and a travel cot can be provided on request. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children over nine months or pets.

  • We ask guests not to smoke or vape inside The Lodge and not to use confetti, fireworks or real candles. Decorations are welcome, but please don’t attach them to the walls using tape, pins, nails or similar fixings. Battery-operated candles are provided for use inside and beside the outdoor bath, and the outdoor festoon lights are remote-controlled.

  • Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details of our cancellation policy. The relevant terms are also shown before you complete a direct booking and included in your confirmation email. If you booked through Airbnb or Booking.com, the cancellation policy displayed on that platform will apply.
