The story.
The Lodge began with a small patch of woodland and an idea to create something that felt completely at home within it.
Designed by North Yorkshire architect Andrew Hayes and hand-built on site, the cabin was carefully considered from the ground up. Screw foundations were used to protect the landscape, no trees were felled, and British larch was chosen to allow the building to settle naturally into its surroundings.
We welcomed our first guests in December 2024. Since then, The Lodge has grown into an award-winning stay, welcoming guests from across the UK and beyond to slow down, reconnect and experience this little corner of the Yorkshire Coast.
